About the Role

In this exciting and challenging role, you will lead a global team of ~15 engineers in four locations in Germany and the US responsible for the system design team in the large gas turbine engineering turbine module. System design includes mechanical design for casing and rotor components as well as cross section engineering and product configuration tasks. Key to the role is ensuring people development, quality, On Time Delivery, product costs and digital integration are achieved and further enhanced within the turbine module on a system level.
You will work closely with stakeholders, interface partners in engineering, manufacturing, service, procurement and program management on an engine level to ensure that components will be delivered.

- Leadership and inspiration through the provision of disciplinary and professional guidance for a team of engineers and technical experts, fostering an environment of drive, innovation, and high performance

- Facilitation of organizational growth and individual development through multi-skilling, training, task assignments, and proactive generation of development opportunities
- Oversight of the design and mechanical engineering of rotor and casing components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Driving the development of product configurations and cross-sectional designs to optimize performance and reliability
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams for the integration of design solutions into overall turbine systems
What You Bring
- University degree or equivalent in engineering with a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience
- Management experience in complex engineering, product development, and/or R&D environments
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and product configuration
- Demonstrated ability for motivation, leadership, and empowerment of a global team within an international matrix organization to achieve optimal results and drive positive change
- Strategic thinking, comprehensive business understanding, and a strong focus on team performance and execution excellence
- Strong organizational and collaboration capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability for effective management of complex projects; demonstrated aptitude for teamwork and willingness for domestic and international travel
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as well as fluency in both German and English (spoken and written)

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
