A Snapshot of Your Day

As Head of Steam Quality & Stationary Technical Services within our Operations Steam Repairs organization, you will establish dedicated leadership for steam quality management and technical services for stationary steam equipment, addressing a critical need for focused oversight in these areas.

Your role is centered around three core pillars: Quality Management, Stationary Technical Services, and Leadership & Operations. A primary focus of your day will be implementing preventative measures across processes and quality systems to proactively reduce non-conformance costs and strengthen overall operational performance.

You will drive the implementation of robust quality standards, ensure the effective management of technical support teams, and maintain strategic alignment with the broader manufacturing goals of the Large Generators unit. In parallel, you will lead experienced professionals, providing direction on operational priorities while advancing short-term results through focused execution.

Leveraging your background in quality methodologies and technical service management within an industrial repair or manufacturing setting, you will guide decision-making, oversee technical excellence, and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to robust quality standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement preventative quality assurance policies and process controls to minimize defects and reduce non-conformance costs.
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality deviations, implementing robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all production and repair activities comply with internal and external safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while maintaining accurate quality documentation and service records.
  • Direct and manage the steam quality engineering team on meeting quality objectives for the steam business.
  • Direct and manage the stationary manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance and support for complex diagnostics and repairs of stationary equipment.
  • Plan, prioritize, and monitor technical service activities, while liaising with engineering, production planning, and logistics to coordinate resources and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) focused on service efficiency, first-time-right repairs, and the reduction of non-conformance costs.
  • Manage and develop a team of experienced technical professionals, overseeing performance, coaching, professional development, and the implementation of operational strategies to achieve departmental goals.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10 or more years of significant experience in quality management and/or technical services within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or power generation repair environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a management role, leading teams of experienced technical professionals or engineers.
  • Strong background in quality assurance, process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology, and root cause analysis.
  • Proven leadership capabilities including team building, workflow management, strategic thinking, and accountability.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, including mechanical aptitude and the ability to assess and solve complex operational challenges.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or Certified Lean Practitioner are preferred.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
