A Snapshot of Your Day

The purpose of our Head of Operations position is to provide the Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (AGT) team with strategic leadership and support for our execution business.  The candidate will report directly to the head of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (SE GS D AGT).

The Head of Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing manufacturing and assembly activities across our global network. This senior role ensures consistent operational standards, drives efficiency, improves quality, ensures product deliveries and fosters collaboration between teams to support Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering innovative, sustainable energy solutions.

As a key contributor within the executive team, you help us to identify and drive key business objectives and long-term business needs for the AGT business. These activities guide the business for future success.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Global Operational Leadership

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for factory operations
  • Develop and execute a unified manufacturing strategy to ensure standardization, quality, and operational excellence across teams
  • Harmonize processes, systems, and KPIs globally, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and local requirements

 

Manufacturing Excellence

  • Oversee production performance, capacity planning, and resource allocation across diverse manufacturing teams
  • Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Monitor production outputs, efficiency, yield, and downtime to ensure consistent delivery performance

 

Cross-Site Collaboration

  • Facilitate best practice sharing between teams and locations to align methodologies and performance standards
  • Build strong relationships with team leaders, ensuring effective communication and operational cohesion
  • Support global initiatives for digitalization adoption

 

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Promote and ensure a zero-harm safety culture across all manufacturing locations
  • Maintain compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and Siemens Energy’s global quality management system
  • Drive quality assurance initiatives to reduce defects and enhance customer satisfaction

 

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage operational budgets for factory sites, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability
  • Optimize workforce planning, material sourcing, and production scheduling
  • Implement global procurement and supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs

 

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop site managers and operational teams globally
  • Ensure consistent training, competency development, and succession planning across sites and teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in multi-site factory operations, preferably in the energy, heavy industrial, or manufacturing sectors
  • Proven track record of improving production efficiency and implementing global operational standards
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and digital transformation strategies
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and manufacturing analytics tools
  • Commitment to sustainability and operational excellence
  • Intimate knowledge of the AGT business is preferred
  • Must be prepared to travel occasionally both nationally and internationally
  • Proven record of leading an effective multicultural and cross-regional working team by insuring communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to move fast with simplicity and ownership for decisions
  • Flexibility to adjust and succeed in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
