About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a GIS Tender Manager, you will be pivotal in supporting proposal activities for Service. Your primary role involves strategizing execution plans by ensuring robust costing and comprehensive risk assessment for all submitted bids. This position requires close coordination and teamwork with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management functions during the acquisition phase of assigned projects. Your impact will be made by developing compelling sales proposals for High Voltage Substation projects, including both Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS). A key part of your responsibilities will be to determine proposal feasibility and ensure our competitiveness within the EPC market. This involves developing, editing, and writing original proposal responses, validating the technical aspects of the offered solutions, and working closely with the supply chain to incorporate sub-supplier quotes. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the Service Utility market, including customer requirements, opportunities, and the competitive landscape. You will apply critical thinking to resolve complex, cross-functional problems and align our company's entire scope of products and services to meet customer business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong business insight, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 50% Tender and Proposal Management
- Develop, edit, and write original sales proposals and other sales-related documents for Grid Solutions projects (GIS and AIS).
- Determine proposal feasibility and ensure competitiveness in the EPC market.
- Validate and endorse the technical aspects of solutions offered in bids.
- Strategize bid execution plans, ensuring strong costing and risk assessment.
- 30% Strategic Analysis and Customer Alignment
- Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the assigned industry structure, applications, terminology, trends, and issues.
- Discover and understand customers’ primary business goals, operations, challenges, and requirements.
- Align the entire scope of company products, solutions, and services to meet customer business goals.
- Analyze the Grid Solutions Utility market as it relates to customer requirements, opportunities, and competition.
- 20% Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management functions during the acquisition phase.
- Work with the supply chain to collaborate on and integrate sub-supplier quotes.
- Apply critical thinking to bring successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and cross-functional problems.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Master's Degree is preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in a related field, with a preference for Grid Solutions Utilities. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
Travel, as needed (~15%).
