A Snapshot of Your Day

The Solution Engineer supports Siemens Wind Power wind farm projects by providing advanced technical expertise during construction, commissioning, and operational phases of wind turbine installations. This role serves as a key link between Engineering, Commissioning, Service Operations, and customers to deliver technical solutions that improve turbine reliability, performance, and operational efficiency across the wind fleet. The Solution Engineer is responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex turbine issues involving electrical systems, control systems, sensors, software, and SCADA platforms. This position focuses on data-driven problem solving, root cause analysis, turbine validation testing, and implementation of corrective actions and design improvements for Siemens Wind Power turbine platforms. Working both remotely and at wind farm sites, the Solution Engineer supports field operations through technical troubleshooting, validation activities, fleet performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong analytical capability, hands-on field experience, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide technical support for Siemens Wind Power turbine projects during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Troubleshoot complex turbine issues related to electrical systems, controls, software, sensors, communications, and SCADA systems.
  • Analyze turbine operational data and fleet performance trends to identify recurring faults, reliability risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Perform and support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions for turbine performance and reliability issues.
  • Execute turbine validation testing and support design verification activities for engineering modifications and product improvements.
  • Collect, interpret, and post-process large datasets using engineering analysis tools, scripting, and data visualization methods.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Software Engineering teams to develop technical solutions for field issues.
  • Support retrofit programs, technical upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives across Siemens Wind Power turbine fleets.
  • Develop technical reports, troubleshooting documentation, work instructions, and validation records in accordance with engineering and operational standards.
  • Coordinate testing equipment, instrumentation, and auxiliary systems required for field validation activities.
  • Interface directly with site personnel, customers, contractors, and third-party testing organizations to support project execution and issue resolution.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that reduce downtime, improve turbine availability, and increase operational efficiency.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience in wind turbine operations, field engineering, commissioning, troubleshooting, or renewable energy systems.
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine electrical systems, control systems, instrumentation, and SCADA platforms.
  • Experience performing technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis in industrial or renewable energy environments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, scripting, and engineering software tools such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to analyze large operational datasets and translate findings into actionable technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional engineering and operational teams.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments and travel to wind farm sites as required.
  • Experience supporting Siemens Wind Power turbine platforms or utility-scale renewable energy projects is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes, turbine validation testing, and fleet reliability practices is considered an asset.
