This position is based at the Hornsdale Wind Farm, located in Australia. The successful candidate must reside in the local area no further than 1 hours drive from the site.

Collaborating with the Service Operations Manager, your duties as a Site Lead coordinating day to day operational activities, supervising maintenance teams, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the wind farm.
This role combines hands on technical execution with onsite leadership, work coordination, HSE management, stakeholder communication, and administrative responsibilities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead daily site operations, including toolbox talks, task allocation, maintenance coordination, and acting as the technical escalation point while supporting resource planning.
- Supervise and develop technicians and contractors through coaching, mentoring, training, and fostering a strong team culture and competency growth.
- Champion safety by enforcing HSE standards, conducting inspections, and leading incident reporting and investigations.
- Execute and support technical work such as WTG maintenance, troubleshooting, high torque tasks, component exchanges, LOTO, and turbine start ups.
- Serve as the main onsite liaison, coordinating with stakeholders and remote operations while communicating progress, risks, and requirements.
- Ensure compliance through accurate documentation, SAP reporting, audit support, and driving continuous improvement by identifying issues and providing technical feedback.
What You Bring
- Hold relevant technical qualifications and certifications, including Cert III/IV in electrotechnology/mechanical/renewables, GWO Basic Safety, First Aid/CPR (LVR), high risk licenses, driver’s license, and required authorisations.
- Possess preferred credentials such as GWO Advanced Rescue, HV switching authorisation, leadership or engineering diplomas, and SAP/CMMS experience.
- Bring 3–5+ years of WTG maintenance or field operations experience with proven team leadership capability.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of turbine systems, HSE processes, and safety leadership in operations.
- Exhibit key capabilities including technical proficiency, communication, team supervision, problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational/reporting skills.
- Operate within a defined structure, reporting to the Operations & Project Manager, supervising technicians/contractors, and coordinating with stakeholders such as remote operations, engineering, planning, HSE, and landowners.
About the team
Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, your duties as Site Lead – Hornsdale Wind Farm will see you play a pivotal role in undertaking scheduled and unscheduled service and maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment, to ensure ongoing high availability of the wind farm for our client.
