Join our dynamic team as an Engineering Data Services (EDS) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in monitoring the daily data flow from power generation equipment across the globe. Imagine being at the forefront of advanced data analysis, empowering engineers and customers to make informed decisions. You will engage in first-level troubleshooting, ensuring seamless data acquisition and maintaining robust communication with support groups. Your commitment to excellence will help resolve issues with our data acquisition system and remote network connections, all while contributing to the innovative Power Diagnostics® Services mission.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will ensure the daily acquisition of data for all monitored Power Diagnostics® sites, maintaining operational integrity.
  • You will acquire partial data files, Sequence of Events files, and control system data upon request from Operations Engineers and Service Engineering.
  • You will answer 24/7 hotline calls, tracking issues for Power Diagnostics® Services and providing timely support.
  • You will handle first-level troubleshooting for all issues related to PDS rule base processing, ensuring swift resolutions.
  • You will maintain high levels of communication between support groups, collaborating effectively with Power Diagnostics® Operations, Service Engineering, and the OmniviseEdge Data Acquisition System Group.

What You Bring

  • You have an Associate’s degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training, with a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • You possess a customer-oriented mindset, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across organizations.
  • You demonstrate a structured approach to work, showing initiative and a team-oriented mindset.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, etc.).
  • You are willing to work 12-hour shifts, including night shifts, to support our global operations.
  • You have proficiency in networking and computer troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of industrial routers and firewalls being a plus.
