A Snapshot of Your Day
The Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the follow-up and implementation of EHS processes and procedures that support the maintenance of safety management systems, in order to guarantee that operations comply with organizational and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with specific certifications and standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Participate in daily meetings with production supervisors to align on safety priorities.
- Conduct plant walkthroughs to verify safety conditions and engage with workers to promote a zero-harm culture.
- Oversee and authorize high-risk work activities, ensuring proper controls and compliance.
- Ensure contractors comply with all established safety measures and site requirements.
- Review the status of pending corrective actions and coordinate with maintenance to resolve safety issues.
- Contribute safety perspectives during change management discussions for new logistics or production processes.
- Safety Supervisor with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Environmental, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Safety within the manufacturing industry, experience in contractor supervision and issuing special work permits, ISO 45001, Mexican safety regulations, international standards, and preferably knowledge of European Safety legal requirements
- Have extensive experience in issuing permits for special work as well as identifying risk conditions with contractors.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the plant to identify potential risks and verify compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure that the maintenance program for machinery and vehicles is defined, implemented, and followed.
- Follow up on the Safety Program and provide technical support for related activities.
- Manage process changes from a Safety perspective.
- Manage the Monitoring and Surveillance processes of Operational criteria.
- Ensure that all incidents are investigated and recorded, and that appropriate measures are defined, implemented, and monitored.
- Manage and ensure the Training Program, and organize and conduct Safety inductions.
- Contribute to the development of a Zero Harm Culture (EHS Siemens Energy).
- Comply with and/or enforce the current protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the integrated management system (EHS).
- Basic English proficiency and strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills.
The Safety Supervisor will report directly to the EHS Manager of the Guanajuato SE GT PR TAM GJT plant. Their main responsibilities will include developing a preventive safety culture and promoting safe behaviors in production areas. The role involves rotating shifts to ensure safety coverage during night shifts.
