A Snapshot of Your Day

As a trainee, you will perform activities related to USMCA origin qualification. You will be responsible for analyzing the production process of complete equipment and parts of Distribution Transformers (DT) that will be exported to the U.S. This includes reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other supporting documents to ensure they comply with the rules of origin required for preferential tariff treatment for our clients in the U.S.

You will also be responsible for documenting processes to prevent origin reviews, fines, and any potential risks, as well as managing and maintaining the corresponding records.


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Carry out a detailed and accurate analysis of the information provided to determine if final product qualifies as USMCA originating.
  • Accurate calculations of the different options to obtain the required regional content percentage of each product.
  • Risk management and mitigation to prevent penalties due to non-compliance with USMCA guidelines and Customs department internal requirements.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is complete and accurate to maintain a clear traceability through the complete supply chain. As well as ensure that all supporting documentation remains in the corresponding document repository.
  • In case of an audit prepare the necessary documentation, support in attending the requirement.
  • By identifying and working along with the personnel of DT, implementing strategies to comply with the Rules of Origin to meet USMCA requirements.

What You Bring 

  • Skill in managing diverse documentation that supports the origin and issuance of certificates of origin.
  • Bachelor's degree: International Trade, Commerce, Law, and Economy.
  • Professional Experience: Early talent but experienced candidates in foreign trade & Customs are welcome.
  • Desirable to have experience in customs legislation and USMCA Free Trade Agreement.
  • English at a professional working level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work with supervision and follow instructions
  • Soft Skills: Critical Thinking and Emotional Intelligence
