About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Siemens Energy must orchestrate the movement of goods all around the world. The use of modern IT solutions helps to reduce cost and risk by processing imports, exports or customs classification in an automated manner.
With our IT customs applications we support and enable the global customs strategy in the most digitized and automated way possible! Our goal is to cover as many of our global IT requirements through our global applications, however regional gaps will be unavoidable. With your understanding you will support the region in bridging that gap, e.g. by initiating the implementation of low code IT applications or Alteryx processes. You will be responsible for translating our customs requirements and defined processes to our IT business partner for implementation, thereby driving and managing the respective implementation project!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Validate use cases and requirements provided by Customs business
- Visualize processes and discuss these processes with other affected functions (based on the visualized processes)
- Initiate the implementation of use cases derived from the global or regional/national customs processes to the respective customs applications
- Digitalize and automate manual processes in the best possible way or standardize existing customs processes in such a way that the process meets regional requirements.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree (e.g. in business administration or information management) or equivalent experience as customs expert.
- 3+ years of experience of working in a customs environment; Candidates with more experience may be eligible for a more senior level position.
- Understanding of the core customs processes
- an affinity in analyzing existing customs processes and identifying and outlining areas for improvement.
- Understand the necessary foreign trade data and when it is needed to collaborate with the global trade management system and the corresponding customs process
- Your interest in understanding low code platforms (e.g. Mendix, Alteryx or Snowflake) and becoming a developer for such a platform (e.g. Citizen Developer)
- Excellent English language skills, German is an advantage.
