Working as a Credit Analyst at Siemens Energy entails a blend of active and engaging tasks vital to the financial well-being of our operations. You will be responsible for implementing global credit policies in your region, customizing them to meet local requirements, and ensuring they adhere to our stringent governance standards. Your duties will involve daily credit management activities such as evaluating credit risk, managing credit limits, and preparing manual credit assessment reports. Additionally, you will assist in implementing regional model changes and offering primary support for credit-related inquiries, contributing significantly to overseeing credit risk!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Supervise customer credit limits daily to manage risk
  • Analyze customer financial documents, credit histories, company profiles, and industry trends to determine creditworthiness
  • Counsel senior management on making customer credit limit changes and decisions
  • Assign credit limits and recommend payment terms based on risk profiles
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and project teams to understand and mitigate operational and financial risks
  • Quantify credit exposure and propose risk mitigation strategies like guarantees or insurance
  • Implement credit limit adjustments and release blocked orders as directed by management
  • Implement global credit management policies independently or with mentorship from senior management
  • Showcase irregularities in automated rating models to senior leadership
  • Understand and support the implementation and maintenance of rating and limit models.
  • Provide inputs on model development based on prior experience with similar data models.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for regional credit management inquiries.
  • Coordinate and resolve credit management issues with external service providers.
  • Furnish essential client data to external organizations for timely credit appraisal reports.
  • Bring up concerns to senior management when required.
  • Monitor external credit rating changes or negative credit events for existing customers and communicate timely updates to relevant departments.
  • Monitor the financial well-being of credit customers in a proactive manner and recognize early indicators of potential risk.
  • Compile manual credit assessment reports for customers in cases where external reports are not accessible.
  • Maintain and update credit risk databases and systems to track customer credit performance and payment history.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, treasury, and commercial operations teams to negotiate contracts and financing structures.
  • Work with multinational customers and local teams to ensure compliance with regional and global risk guidelines.
  • Leverage digital tools, automation, and analytics to boost the speed and accuracy of credit risk assessments.
  • Find opportunities to streamline data gathering and risk analysis processes.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ongoing studies for CFA or other certifications (e.g., FRM) are advantageous but not required
  • 3-6 years of experience in credit assessment, financial evaluation, or internships within finance-related positions
  • Familiarity with credit risk, financial analysis, or corporate finance concepts is preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements)
  • Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing documents or reports
  • Familiarity with Excel for financial analysis (e.g., simple formulas, pivot tables)
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial; openness to acquiring new skills is crucial
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to analyze numerical and qualitative data to draw logical conclusions under supervision
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory, and additional regional languages (e.g., German, Spanish) are a plus, depending on the geographic focus.

About the Team

Within Treasury & Corporate Finance, the newly formed Global Credit Management team holds a crucial role in leading all aspects of global credit risk practices at Siemens Energy. The Global Credit Manager, reporting to the Head of the Credit Risk & Insurance (CRI) department, focuses on ensuring process consistency and strategic alignment. Senior and junior credit analysts stationed in regional hubs work closely with local business units and accounting teams to implement global standards and address regional requirements effectively.
