The Cost and Risk Specialist is a key function within the Sales Operations Expert Center Service Business team (SE GS C GSO SOP ECSB), working in a team of 5 professionals responsible for complex modeling, risk management and financial analysis of 60Hz Long-Term Program (LTP) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) projects in Regions North America and Latin America to enable LOA approval, contract negotiation and transfer to Implementation.

This position has a direct impact on the financial success of the Service Program business, as measured by Non-Conformance Cost (NCC) and productivity metrics as well as overall Orders Entered for SE GS NA and SE GS LA.

 

How You'll Make an Impact

  • The Cost and Risk Specialist is responsible for the following items:
  • Testing the LTSM in the new SAP S4Hana environment to support long-term maintenance contracts.
  • Deliver accurate and timely cost models and financial analyses in support of LTP / O&M project LOA, negotiation, and contract transfer
  • Directly support customer negotiations as needed
  • Create and follow-up on RFQ’s (Field Service Quotes) with various product lines
  • Perform analyses in support of strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate with Service Engineering and Marketing Leads to integrate TLOA feedback into cost/risk models
  • Support LOA process by representing the project calculation in Pre-LOA meetings
  • Work with a Global team to ensure a harmonized methodology for cost and risk management
  • Support the review and maintenance of standard proposal documents and the Standard Proposal Tool for use on budgetary proposals.
  • Engage with the S4E workstream to develop, test and roll-out the Long-Term Service Module (LTSM) for use in supporting LOA service calculations.
  • Independently apply skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices
  • Advise sales colleagues on use of the various support tools provided by ECSB team (Standard proposal toolbox, budgetary price configurator and others).


What You Bring 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with LOA procedures and strong ability to understand costs, analyze risks, and present sound action plans to meet customer and internal requirements OR experience within multiple Siemens Energy organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute a number of large concurrent projects.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team atmosphere including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Contracts, Operations, etc.
  • Education and/or experience in Engineering / other Technical field OR Finance/Accounting – planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Siemens Energy gas turbine technology and service / maintenance requirements and procedures.
  • Up to 10% travel.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

  • Cost and Interval (C&I) knowledge and understanding of POU Technical & Financial Properties.
  • Manage technical issues related to cost modelling, while also conveying this information to the team to raise overall team technical awareness.
  • Strong Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Access, especially Excel).
  • Skills in automation and digitalization of workflows and related programming languages / tools (e.g., PowerBI, Alteryx, AI applications) are desirable.
  • Ability to provide technical clarifications relating to the project calculation to Marketing Leads.
  • Ability to Interpret, determine and communicate business requirements to IT and function as liaison for technical changes related to internal tools.
  • Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus.
