The Compressor Package Design Specialist will lead or support development, standardization, and cost reduction projects. The focus is on the development and standardization of products and package solutions in the field of energy transition and decarbonization of industry.

Expansion of engineering tasks in the dimensions of "Material Cost Productivity" (Cost-out), "Value-added Measures" (Engineering Productivity), Employee Training, CAPA, Concept Design, Best Practices for Supplier Selection and Purchasing, and Support for Risk and Opportunity Assessment.

How You Make an Impact

  • Supporting the product strategy relating to emerging markets for energy transition and decarbonization with solutions for package design, standardization, and documentation. Strategic first focus will be Innovative Lube- & Seal Systems like for Heat Pump products, etc.
  • Participates in workshops with portfolio management and generates ideas for design-to-cost and further improvement measures.
  • Supports non-conformance investigations and 5WHY root cause analysis and applies his expertise to help engineering teams develop corrective actions for customer projects.
  • Leads assigned corrective and preventive actions, ensures consistent follow-up of lessons learned, and shares best methodologies across the product line, engineering, and manufacturing network.
  • Assists bid management in assessing non-standard project requirements, designs new concepts and additional risk mitigation measures as part of the ROA process in the bidding phase.
  • Supports purchasing and manufacturing along the value chain; Supports the development of standard comments and exceptions to applicable industry standards (e.g., API); Develops and leads learning programs for other departments on his specialist topics.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering field.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in the field of rotating equipment through a position in engineering, quotation support or R&D.
  • 5 years of experience in lube oil systems and knowledge of relevant industry standards.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the processes, the business software (e.g., NX, Teamcenter, COMOS) and the technology of turbomachinery construction in relation to the mentioned responsibilities in the relevant application areas for package design and integration for centrifugal compressors (STC, DATUM or RF).
  • Peer recognized for solving complex problems, developing new business processes, and demonstrating high professional judgment to solve complex problems.
  • Experience working in a global environment, leading global project teams.

The base salary range for this position in Olean, New York is $77,200.000 - $110,200.00 and the annual incentive target is 10% of base salary.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
