A Snapshot of Your Day

As a CNC Technician within our Materials Solutions business, you'll manufacture precision components for the gas turbine and aerospace industries using a combination of CNC and manual machining techniques. Working in a modern machine shop, you'll produce high-quality components from engineering drawings while supporting the continued growth of our Additive Manufacturing capability.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team where quality, safety, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do. Initially offered as a maternity cover position, the role has the potential to become permanent as our business continues to expand.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Set, program, and operate DMG 5-axis CNC milling machines, 2-axis CNC lathes, and manual machine tools to manufacture precision components to engineering specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, carry out dimensional inspections, and ensure all finished components meet the highest quality standards.
  • Support a safe, efficient manufacturing environment by championing 5S, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control, and adherence to all health, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Share best practices with colleagues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations and cross-functional teams to support production targets and deliver components for the gas turbine and aerospace sectors.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the Materials Solutions business by supporting additional manufacturing activities and operational projects as required.

What You Bring

  • Engineering apprenticeship or a minimum of five years' experience within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines, with knowledge of Siemens 840D controllers or similar being advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and carry out dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, continuous improvement, and maintaining high manufacturing standards.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Flexibility to support business requirements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
