A Snapshot of Your Day
With the increasing importance of data and digitalization in the industrial world, Siemens Energy, Steam Turbines and Generators is searching for a Business Data Strategy Officer (f/m/d). The BDSO (f/m/d) will be responsible for development and execution of a Data Strategy, which shall be closely aligned with the Business Strategy of Steam Turbines and Generators, as well as Digitalization initiatives and Information Technology programs.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Business Data Strategy Officer (f/m/d) to take responsibility for developing and implementing our data management and governance strategies. In this key role, you will ensure that our data policies and procedures meet the highest standards, guaranteeing the integrity, security, and availability of our data.
The BDSO (f/m/d) and team will evaluate and prioritize data initiatives to foster digital transformation by empowering the workforce, enabling business processes, and exploring new use cases with more readily available data to reveal new insights.
The BDSO (f/m/d) candidate will be a data and digital expert, a seasoned manager, an effective communicator and influencer, and an advocate for change.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Development and implementation of data strategy, governance policies, standards, and processes across the Business of Steam Turbines and Generators
- Definition and communication of the data strategy and launch of initiatives for its implementation
- Integration of data into all aspects of the business, including products, services, processes, operating models, and culture
- Realization of business value from analytical insights through data and increase in data reliability and trust by establishing responsibilities for master data management, data governance, and data quality
- Leveraging of data architecture, data integration, data analytics, business intelligence platforms, and the data backbone provided by IT
- Orchestration of efficient data exchange between different platforms (ERP, CRM, data lake, etc.) and promotion of data literacy and awareness across the enterprise
- Sponsorship of initiatives for internal and external data sharing, creation of new data-driven products and services, and provision of guidance for a global team of Data Engineers, Analysts, Architects, and related disciplines in STG
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in data management, collaboration with various departments to define and enforce data quality standards, and leading initiatives for data classification and cataloging
What You Bring
- Track record in building a successful data management program for a global organization in a related industry
- Proven digital and data capabilities with a modern and innovative approach towards digital business transformation
- Excellent people management skills with a history of building effective global teams and fostering collaboration
- Experience working in complex, multinational organizations with demonstrated intercultural leadership
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across hierarchical and organizational structures
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business or IT management, including P&L responsibilities
- Minimum five years of professional experience in digital functions
- University degree in computer science, business informatics, industrial engineering, or a comparable field of study
