A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

Our Gas Service organization seeks a highly motivated and results-oriented Financial Analyst/Business Controller. In this role, you will oversee forecast and budget consolidation, as well as management reporting, with a focus on implementing digital solutions. A strong critical thinking ability and a collaborative approach are critical for success in this role.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast and budget consolidations by integrating inputs from finance, sales, and operations into a unified framework, and conduct variance analysis against prior periods and established plans.
  • Be instrumental in transitioning management reporting from static presentations to interactive dashboards with drill-down capabilities, role-based views, and on-demand data refreshes, delivering faster insights, standardized metrics, and increased analytical efficiency.
  • Proficiency in building automated, repeatable data flows (e.g., SAP/EPM+ to Power BI/Tableau) and utilizing RPA or Alteryx for process automation, supporting month-end reporting as well as forecasting and planning processes with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Actively monitor KPIs, highlight deviations for corrective actions, and take corrective actions with the team to bring transparency and ensure a thorough understanding of KPIs and deviations.
  • Communicate financial results and insights to senior management, business partners, and other stakeholders, while identifying processes that can be automated and performed more efficiently.
  • Work closely with the extended finance community to enhance and improve reporting processes and standard reports, achieving the highest data quality, and support the transformation into a digital controlling environment by implementing modern front-end tools, training employees, and promoting digitalization projects.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance/ Business Administration/ Accounting is required.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Business administration or in Finance
  • Expert level financial, interpersonal, analytical and computer skills required.
  • SAP, Microsoft Office, and analytical tools like Tableau and Alteryx experience required.
  • Experience in Financial Reporting & Analysis, Budget Planning and Ad-hoc Analysis.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
