About the Role
The Automation and Controls Engineer in the innovation organization will be working in a highly motivated, experienced and interdisciplinary team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and control processes to improve efficiency and productivity. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including commercial leads, engineering, and end customers. Responsibilities include strong alignment of customer needs and business objectives to ensure that products fit into overall strategy and roadmap. The role involves technical support for supplier and customer meetings, managing R&D and innovation projects. The position requires a strategic thinker who will work closely with stakeholders in developing and shaping our products and services.
How You’ll Make an Impact
● Design and develop automated systems and processes, including robotics, control systems, and software applications.
● Write and test software for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and other control devices.
● Integrate control systems with existing equipment and software, ensuring seamless operation and communication between systems.
● Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure they meet performance specifications and safety standards.
● Simulating and testing automated processes to ensure functionality and performance.
● Develop comprehensive documentation for designs, specifications, and testing procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
● Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
● Problem Solving: Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues, providing effective solutions to enhance product performance and reliability
What You Bring
- · Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- · 10+ years of experience in control system design and programming, knowledge of industrial automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus), and familiarity with control system software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in materials testing and analysis techniques
- · Passion for innovation, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement.
