A snapshot of your Day

This request is to add six new Active Part Assemblers to support a new project within the Power Transformers Charlotte manufacturing facility. This entry-level (P1) role is critical for increasing production capacity for large power transformers. To meet this business need, the role is structured around two core areas: hands-on assembly of the transformer's active part and strict adherence to quality and safety protocols. This focus ensures that new team members contribute directly to production targets while upholding the high standards required in a high-voltage manufacturing environment. Given the focus on precision assembly and safety, the ideal candidate will possess foundational knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a strong commitment to quality. While this is an entry-level position, prior experience in a technical or manufacturing setting is beneficial.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • 60% Active Part Assembly & Connections
    • Assemble the core, windings, insulation, and other components to build the active part of large power transformers according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
    • Perform and secure electrical connections through methods such as brazing and crimping, ensuring they meet technical specifications.
    • Operate material handling equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts, to safely move and position large, heavy components.
    • Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices to complete assembly tasks with precision.
  • 40% Quality & Safety Compliance
    • Conduct in-process quality inspections and measurements to verify that assembly work meets all required quality control standards.
    • Strictly adhere to all site-specific safety protocols, including electrical safety procedures (e.g., LOTO) and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
    • Document completed work, report any deviations or non-conformities to the team lead, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with 5S principles.

What you Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's Degree or a technical certificate in Electrical Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial assembly, or related technical environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Electrical applications, schematics and high voltages a plus
  • Knowledge of Quality & Continuous Improvement Processes
