About the Role
Snapshot of your Day
As the HVDC Offshore Warranty Engineer, you will serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for warranty-related topics on offshore HVDC systems, with a primary focus on the Sunrise project. Your day will involve close coordination with EPC project teams, offshore operations, and global engineering, ensuring that all warranty-related obligations are properly managed, investigated, and resolved. You will be the key interface between service, EPC, engineering, and customers, supporting root cause analysis, managing warranty claims, and ensuring high-quality technical resolution of issues impacting offshore HVDC assets. This role plays a critical role in protecting Siemens Energy from risk while ensuring reliable system performance and strong customer relationships in one of the first offshore HVDC service applications in the U.S.
How to make an Impact
- Act as the technical SME for offshore HVDC warranty activities (Sunrise project), driving resolution of complex technical issues across the asset lifecycle.
- Serve as the central interface between EPC, Engineering, Service, and Customer teams to ensure aligned, timely handling of warranty matters.
- Lead end-to-end warranty claim management, including technical evaluation, root cause analysis (RCA), documentation, and closure.
- Analyze system performance, operational data, and failure trends to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and improve reliability.
- Support field teams (onshore/offshore) with troubleshooting, fault diagnostics, and engineering guidance while coordinating with global experts to resolve escalations.
- Ensure compliance with contractual warranty terms, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, retrofit solutions, and clear customer communication.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience in HVDC systems, ideally in offshore or converter-based environments
- Strong expertise in system troubleshooting, fault analysis, and root cause investigation within complex power systems
- Proven experience in EPC projects, commissioning/service environments, or warranty management
- Solid technical knowledge of converter technology, transformers, protection & control systems, and grid integration
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operational data, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in an SME role and willingness to travel offshore/onshore (offshore certifications or willingness to obtain)
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
