About the Role

As Siemens Energy continues to expand repair capacity at the Winston Technology Center, we are hiring Repair Welders to support increased throughput and ensure business continuity. This Specialist Para‑Professional role is essential for executing advanced repairs on large generator components, with a focus on high‑precision welding, rigorous quality inspection, and strict adherence to operational and safety standards. The ideal candidate brings extensive industrial welding experience, proficiency with precision measurement tools, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and problem‑solving in a manufacturing environment. They will independently address non‑routine repair challenges while contributing to a high‑performance production team.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Advanced Welding Repairs — Perform complex welding on large generator components using steel, stainless steel, and nickel‑based alloys.
- Equipment Setup & Operation — Operate TIG, MIG, robotic welders, and fabrication tools for precision repair work.
- Technical Interpretation — Read engineering drawings and work instructions to execute non‑routine repair procedures.
- Quality Inspection — Conduct in‑process and final weld inspections using calipers, gauges, and precision measurement tools.
- Operational & Safety Compliance — Maintain EHS standards, perform equipment maintenance, and support workflow planning and process improvements.
- Team Support — Mentor junior welders and collaborate with engineering on corrective actions and production goals.
What You Bring
- Industrial Welding Experience — Minimum 5 years of welding experience in industrial, heavy manufacturing, or component repair environments.
- Education Background — High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or an Associate’s degree in Welding Technology preferred.
- Technical Skillset — Proficiency with TIG/MIG welding, robotic systems, fabrication tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- Quality & Documentation — Ability to inspect welds, identify defects, and complete production and quality records accurately.
- Safety & Reliability — Strong commitment to EHS standards, equipment care, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Problem‑Solving — Capable of independently resolving non‑routine repair challenges with limited supervision.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
