Tool Facility Mechanical Technician
Job Location
South Korea - Hwaesong
Mechanical Technician performing tool receiving, inspection, refurbishment and dispatch to support our power generation outages. This is a one year fixed-term contract with possibility of extension/conversion depending on individual and/or company performance.

Your profile
- A technical qualification related to industrial activities is preferred. This may be a technical college certificate with vocational training. Alternatively, demonstrated experience with industrial tooling or warehouse operations will be considered in place of academic qualifications.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience with tooling or warehouse operations is required.
- Must have basic level of English capability for both written and spoken. Expected to read and complete inventory sheets that are based on English language.
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Willingness to be flexible in assignments to support business need, including willingness to work overtime as required in peak periods.
- Valid driver's license and car to be able to travel to facility independently.
- Valid forklift operating license is preferred, if candidate does not have training will be provided.
- Legally permitted to work in South Korea
- Fluent in Korean
Your responsibilities
- Mechanical Technician to perform tooling receiving, inspection, refurbishment, inventory control and dispatch.
- The candidate shall be familiar with industrial tooling ranging from hand tools, rigging and lifting, pneumatic, hydraulic, precision, personal protective equipment, industrial consumables, etc.
- Inspection of tooling shall include inspection and minor repairs, while significant repairs shall be segregated for vendor repair.
- Candidate will operate a 3 and 7 Ton electric forklift for inventory management and truck loading. Crane operation is used for handling of containers and large tooling. If a candidate does not have a forklift or crane qualification, training will be provided.
- Candidate will interface with our suppliers for new kit build and repair and logistics companies for dispatch and receiving of tooling and supplies.
- The successful candidate needs to take ownership of assigned tasks with attention to detail to ensure kits are shipped with complete with accurate inventories. They will work as part of a small team in our Tool Facility. Work will be hands on and may lead Sub-contractor labor for basic tasks.
- Candidate must be computer literate and will be expected to utilize our in house application for tool receiving and dispatch. Training and support will be provided as this is an internal application.
- Document work performed including report of work done, inventory sheets, inspection documents, etc. This work is currently paper based, but is expected to move to tablet based systems in our future operations.
- The candidate needs to perform tasks that require physical fitness and mobility in the facility and at power plants with manual handling of tooling and utilization of lifting aids for heavier equipment.
- This is a facility based assignment in Songsan. In peak periods there is a potential for short field-based assignments to assist with delivery, return or site setup of SE tooling at maintenance outage sites in Korea.
