Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer in Deer Park, TX to plan manpower for Gas Turbine commissioning, from installation to handover to the customer.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Assist with internal planning for Commissioning activities including when and how much natural gas is forecast to be required on site, and when and how many units to deliver in terms of power to the electrical grid.
  • Participate in customer meetings, present progress, and listen to customer feedback, reviews, and questions with regard to the schedule.
  • Involved with documentation handling and procedures including contracts, protocols, diagrams, P&ID’s, connection tables, and punch lists.
  • Inspect mechanical system prior to operation.
  • Perform loop check, insulation test and rotation test of motors, pumps, fans, and Aux systems.
  • Perform gas turbine inspections including air intake, compressor, exhaust system, piping, burners, ignitors, flame detectors and more.
  • Perform total walkdown of instrumentation and piping of the complete gas turbine and Aux systems.
  • Fabricate on-site tools, filters, and hoses to fit the situation and ensure continuous progress on-site.
  • Perform total testing of unit safety functions including overspeed, gas overtemperature, gas overpressure, shut down sequences, and cool down procedures.
  • Check mechanical components for proper safety functions including loaded spring closing valve, fail safe signals, lubrication, and sealing air cleaning components.
  • Document customer and contractor obligation regarding construction, walking down installation and integrated parts, following up safety assessments and closing open points.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and document activities and near misses on-site.
  • 70% domestic/international travel is required.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrument/Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience.
  • Will accept 2 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience must include 4 years in: electrical trouble shooting skills;
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics;
  • Ability to read and understand piping & instrumentation diagrams;
  • Understanding of Siemens Energy SGT-500, SGT-600, SGT-700, SGT-750 and SGT-800 gas turbine operation;
  • Understanding of electrical power generation;
  • Knowledge of Siemens Energy PCS7 and T3000 gas turbine control systems.
  • 70% domestic/international travel is required.
