A Snapshot of your day
As a Data Governance Specialist, you are part of our growing Data & Artificial Intelligence team within our Digital Core function, where we work together on supporting the wider needs and demands from the business, transforming the way we think of data and embedding data management in our key deliveries across all areas of the energy industry. In this fast-paced environment, you will assist your team in the enablement and training of the data roles in the business to get the operating model to work and will work closely with Digital Transformation Office team to build a sustainable onboarding and enablement framework. In this manner you will contribute to the execution of data governance framework, policy, standards. You will assist in the implementation of an enterprise data governance program, the enablement and operationalization of our data governance roles and the materialization of new ways of working that truly bring data governance alive at Siemens Energy.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Lead our efforts to design and execute a sustainable onboarding and enablement framework.
• As such, you can communicate and present data governance concepts clearly to support upskilling and training activities that serve to enable and operationalize the data management roles in the organization.
• You will create suitable content that further build and support self-serving capabilities so the enablement framework provides many avenues and channels under which the data governance roles can build and develop their skills and their understanding of their role
• You will contribute to producing, refining, and publishing new training artifacts because of new policies, procedures, and guidelines being released or updated. If workshops are required, you will lead their planning and support their successful delivery.
• You will contribute to the delivery of other activities and projects within the scope of data Governance, such as data maturity models, data KPIs; regular touch points with all data governance roles and data domains, supporting how we materialize the ownership and governance of SE data domain landscape.
• You will lead our Comms & Change collaboration with the Digital Transformation Office, so our joint efforts successfully use our communication digital channels to keep all our stakeholders informed as per their profile and influence; and as such, to successfully deliver our comms plan for the year.
• You will leverage the Digital forums, in particular the data Governance Council to engage with our data stakeholders and use the forum to formalise decisions and plans on enablement, and gain their buy-in.
• You will collaborate with the Digital Core business partners to build a stronger operating model that brings data enablement closer to the business areas and all their employees.
• You will support the development and maintenance of an end-to-end data lifecycle management approach; leveraging the Data Management Enterprise Process, and making sure our training material facilitate the adoption of its processes
What You bring - Your skills, capabilities.
• University degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related
• 5+ years' experience working in Data Management in a large organization (preferably) supporting enablement and training of data roles with a complex data landscape.
• Excellent communicator, able to explain data governance concepts with clear examples that bring the concept to life and facilitate onboarding of data governance roles and how these roles contribute to the data governance journey at Siemens Energy
• Specialist in designing and implementing Data Governance; but has experience or very good understanding of Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Enterprise Data architecture and Data security practices.
• Understands how the technology and application landscape is managed in large originations, and as such has experience designing processes and understanding of design principles to further embed data management in how we further build and improve that landscape, and the collaboration channels that shape it.
• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive progress and find solutions to issues; excellent communicator and confident presenter.
• Experience implementing and using and data management solutions such as Data Catalogs and Data Quality tools.
• Proven track record of operating within large data governance programs, with expert understanding of existing data management frameworks and best practice, but able to pragmatically apply these.
• Remain flexible to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
• Excellent written and oral communication
