Siemens Energy Process & Safety Consulting business has an exciting opportunity for motivated Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team and support the growth of our Americas business. The individual in this role will focus on consulting services for process and pressure relief design evaluations. Through our solutions we help customers improve process safety, enable operations excellence and digitalization of their process safety information and workflows. The preferred location for this position is Houston, TX but would also consider other locations in the US.


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Technical Lead on pressure relief evaluation projects. Identifying and quantifying overpressure scenario relief rate requirements and evaluating relief systems capacities.
  • Flare Header Evaluations including radiation and dispersion analysis.
  • Develop steady state heat and material balances for design concepts and process modification using process simulation tools.
  • Support the team and contribute to development of FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and detailed design phases for energy transformation projects.
  • Support the team on decarbonization feasibility studies including electrification of equipment, utilizing alternate fuel sources etc. Perform design evaluations and assess process and safety impacts.
  • Facilitate PHAs (Process Hazard Analysis) and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) studies

What You Bring


  • 10 years of process engineering or process safety experience. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • BS/MS in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience in upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas processes including refining and renewables is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PSPPM (Project Scope, Planning, and Performance Management) a plus.
  • Familiarity with Industry Relief Valve Management software is a plus.
  • Prior experience in plant operations is a plus.
