A Snapshot of Your Day

The Siemens Energy North America Customs team ensures compliance with customs regulations and internal requirements efficiently. As part of the North America Customs team, the Customs Quality function conducts reviews, leads corrective actions, optimizes processes, identifies duty savings, prepares reports, locally implements IT demands for corporate core solutions and handles customs duty payments for Siemens Energy, Inc. This individual contributor role is primarily responsible for controlling and auditing with a focus on customs compliance with U.S. import regulations and SE Customs Internal Control Program, conducting regular internal reviews, deploying quality measures and implementing corrective actions!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • This position requires proficiency in customs import regulations, including entry procedures, customs valuation, Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), special programs, and trade remedies. Responsibilities include conducting internal post-release entry reviews, periodic post-entry audits, and timely spot-checks.
  • Collaborate with various groups to capture info, analyze issues, and implement fixes.
  • Prepare post summary corrections and protests. Support the Regulatory team in activities to respond to CBP requests for information.
  • Develop, collaborate, communicate, and lead all aspects of customs key performance indicators to ensure quality and compliance across high-risk customs areas. Routinely update critical metrics and insights to appropriate audiences like customs brokers, customs management, and business units.
  • Support the Customs duties ACH Periodic Monthly Statement program. Monitor entry liquidations and refunds.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of education and experience in related field.
  • 5+ years of direct related experience in import operations and auditing.
  • Excellent knowledge of 19 CFR U.S. Customs regulations, US Tariff database, General Rules of Interpretation and customs brokerage activities.
  • Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is preferred.
  • Experience with ERPs, preferably SAP, and Global Trade management software is preferred.
  • Adaptability, effective collaboration across cultures, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and interpretative skills. This role requires strong interpersonal attributes including high ethical standards, strong organizational and communication skills, high attention to detail, highly self-motivated and a team player.
