A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic team as an Auxiliary Power Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing auxiliary power criteria for substations. Imagine creating detailed Single Line and Three Line Drawings for AC and DC projects, while also crafting comprehensive load lists and design packages for Motor Control Centers, MV Switchgear, and LV Panelboards. You will engage in vital calculations to size transformers, battery banks, and UPS systems, ensuring that your designs meet the highest standards. Your expertise will guide the development of technical specifications and support marketing and project teams, making a significant impact on our projects and clients.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will develop auxiliary power criteria and create Single Line and Three Line Drawings for AC and DC substations.
- You will prepare design and request for quotation (RfQ) packages for Motor Control Centers, MV Switchgear, and LV Panelboards.
- You will perform calculations to size auxiliary power transformers, battery banks, UPS, and battery chargers.
- You will conduct Arc Flash and Voltage Drop studies, ensuring safety and reliability in your designs.
- You will mentor entry-level engineers, sharing your knowledge and guiding them in their professional development.
- You will collaborate with marketing and project teams to support project execution and customer meetings.
What You Bring
- You hold a degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering with 5 or more years of experience focused on auxiliary power design for substations or power plants.
- You have knowledge of ANSI, NFPA, and IEC standards, with experience in substation equipment.
- You are proficient in AutoCAD, with additional skills in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and Microstation being a plus.
- You are eligible to obtain a professional engineering license, with a preference for those already licensed.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
