Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is searching for advanced turbine technicians who are willing and capable of leading and / or being part of our Heavy Lifts and Large Corrective teams. The Wind Service Travel Technician position requires 100% travel, so qualified candidates must live within 50 miles of a major airport. This role requires both day and night shift availability. Wind Technicians will preform technical tasks, provide excellent customer service remotely and onsite, and will support generating sales leads and contributes to planning activities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Execute large-scale corrective actions, including the exchange of major components such as gearboxes, generators, and blades.
- Perform complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on wind turbine electrical and mechanical systems.
- Operate and direct the use of heavy lifting equipment and specialized tooling in accordance with technical procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols for working at heights, in confined spaces, and with high-voltage systems (LOTO).
- Conduct and participate in pre-task safety briefings, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
- Identify, document, and report all safety incidents, near misses, and potential hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with company policies, OEM guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records, work orders, and technical reports using digital tools and software.
- Document all maintenance activities, parts consumed, and system performance data for operational tracking.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of field procedures and standard maintenance methodologies.
- Communicate technical findings, project status, and equipment issues clearly to site leads and remote management.

What You Bring
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of wind turbine experience, with a strong preference for experience in major component exchanges, turbine erection, or decommissioning.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training (BST), GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Advanced Rescue Training (ART) and/or Qualified Crane and Rigging Certification preferred
- Wind Turbine Troubleshooting & Repair
- Heavy Lift & Rigging Operations experience
- Working at Heights and in Confined Spaces
