About the Role
TITLE: Product & Solutions Development Manager
COMPANY: Siemens Energy Inc.
DUTIES: Responsible for the strategic planning and functional execution of Core Technology and Product Automation related KBE software development, maintenance, and support. Manage software incident reporting, prioritization, and application revision strategy. Perform project planning, sourcing, and execution. Responsible for team member Performance Management reviews and salary planning. Provide leadership and manage the collective efforts of a flexible engineering and product software development. Responsible for the core development activities within the Core Technology & Product Automation Software segment of the Knowledge-Based Engineering organization realizing next generation engineering design automation solutions. Manage, develop, implement, and maintain engineering and design automation programs, applications and processes for various Dresser-Rand products and core technologies. Support the overall KBE direction and vision regarding the development of new KBE software applications. Assume accountability of solution architecture for flagship software solutions. Normalize and provide relational data to support engineering knowledge and data capture; formulate, and programmatically represent, complex mathematical models that capture engineering knowledge and rules. Work in a flexible, cross functional, team-based, development environment that is comprised of both local D-R KBE Engineers and 3rd party KBE consultants/contractors. Leverage core engineering principals combined with Software Development to realize engineering and design automation software solutions.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Must have 2 years of experience with the following skills: Knowledge-Based Engineering and Engineering Software development experience in the Turbomachinery industry; proven experience conceptualizing, architecting, and constructing KBE/Engineering automation software solutions for complex engineered-to-order products, and associated processes, in the Turbomachinery industry; expert level competency as it relates to the Microsoft’s technologies and their utilization in solving complex engineering challenges; Microsoft technologies including, but not limited to: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) – (MVVM and PRISM design patterns experience), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server (developer and admin experience), and Team Foundation Server (developer and admin experience); and experience with CITRIX deployment and/or cloud-based (AWS, Azure, etc) deployment. Approximately 25% travel required. As a federal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Siemens Energy is pausing its mandatory vaccine policy while the issue is addressed by the courts. SEI will monitor the situation closely and may reimplement its policy if required to comply with federal law. Should the vaccine policy be reimplemented, this position requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious accommodation.
