Workshop Manufacturing & Design Solutions Engineer at Siemens Energy
Siemens Energy is looking for a Workshop Manufacturing & Design Solutions Engineer with extensive experience in steam turbine and compressor operations. This role focuses on enhancing local manufacturing and repair capabilities to meet customer needs. The engineer will utilize their expertise to develop innovative solutions, collaborate with a team, and engage with customers to provide exceptional service.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Comprehensive understanding of steam turbine and turbo compressor components for manufacturing and repair.
- Efficient use of documentation systems to ensure compliance in manufacturing and repair solutions.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues in specialized repairs and Product Competency Centres to promote knowledge sharing.
- Compile and analyze surveys on manufacturing and repair processes; propose innovative procedures for review.
- Assist order management with project planning and costing inquiries, aligning with customer expectations.
- Collaborate with service centre engineers to provide repair or remanufacture recommendations based on customer equipment insights.
- Contribute to the creation of Digital Inspection Jackets and advanced inspection techniques in various environments.
- Select and qualify repair solutions, develop implementation drawings and 3D models for projects.
- Drive the enhancement of manufacturing and repair capabilities at the Wadeville service centre to meet market demands.
- Cultivate relationships with Product Competency Centres and service providers to develop new repair solutions.
- Analyze turbo-machinery process data to modernize materials and methods, improving efficiency and turnaround times.
- Mentor and support the development of engineers in training, promoting continuous learning.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 15 years of experience in rotating equipment, turbo machinery repairs and manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, averse in the used of engineering drawing tools such as CAD and NX.
- A minimum of 15 years in a turbo-machinery and repairs centre environment, with a strong focus on both steam turbine and compressor repairs.
- Understanding manufacturing processes, material limitations and CNC manufacturing processes.
