A Snapshot of Your Day
This role is being created to add a technical expert to the Latin America Order Execution team. The position will provide specialized support to project managers on complex projects involving switchgear, power transformers, and AIS technologies, ensuring successful technical delivery. To address this need, the role focuses on two core areas: 1) providing high-level technical advisory and solution engineering for complex in-project issues, and 2) delivering direct project engineering support by reviewing designs and collaborating with stakeholders. These functions are designed to mitigate technical risks and enhance the efficiency of project execution across the subregion. Given the focus on advanced technical problem-solving, the ideal candidate will be a senior professional with extensive expertise in power transformers and switchgear. They must be capable of working independently to analyze difficult technical challenges and provide clear, actionable guidance within a project-driven environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
· Serve as the primary technical expert for Project Managers across Latin America on switchgear, power transformers, and Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS) technologies.
· Analyze and resolve complex technical inquiries and challenges that arise during the project execution phase.
· Provide detailed technical clarifications on equipment specifications, design documents, and engineering drawings for high-complexity projects.
· Develop and propose viable technical solutions for non-standard project requirements or unforeseen issues encountered on-site or during manufacturing.
· Support technical reviews during design phase with customers and SE factories; support Project Managers in technical meetings with customers, clarifying engineering concepts and managing expectations.
· Act as local regional technical expert of the Transformer and Switchgear portfolio and
· Review technical specifications and engineering designs for complex transformer and switchgear projects to ensure compliance, feasibility, and quality.
What You Bring
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
· Advanced experience (typically 5-8 years) as a Senior Professional in an engineering capacity focused on power transformers, switchgear, or related high-voltage equipment.
· Demonstrated experience providing technical support for large-scale or complex projects within the energy sector.
· Technical Expertise in Power Transformers, switchgear Technology, Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS), High-Voltage Systems, Electrical Schematics Interpretation.
· Fluent in english, spanish and Portuguese
· Competences: Technical Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Engineering Design Review
