A Snapshot of Your Day
The GIS Substation Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating maintenance activities on high-voltage gas-insulated substations (GIS), ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution in line with Siemens Energy standards and industry best practices. This role requires a solid understanding of the overall operation of high-voltage substations and a strong commitment to electrical safety, acting as a key reference on site to guarantee compliance with safety procedures and Zero Harm principles.
The position involves overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance of GIS equipment, including circuit breakers, disconnectors, and auxiliary systems, while ensuring adherence to OEM procedures and technical guidelines. The supervisor must also ensure the safe handling, monitoring, and management of SF6 gas in compliance with environmental and safety regulations, as well as support basic fault diagnosis and troubleshooting activities using practical field experience and technical judgment.
In addition, the supervisor leads and coordinates field service teams and subcontractors, ensuring proper execution, performance monitoring, and quality compliance of all maintenance activities. The role requires preparing technical reports, analyzing simple failures, and proposing corrective actions, while leveraging experience to support continuous improvement and reliable operation of GIS substations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
· Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on high-voltage equipment, including Gas-Insulated (GIS) and Air-Insulated (AIS) switchgear.
· Ensure strict implementation of electrical safety regulations and safe handling practices for SF6 gas, promoting a Zero Harm culture on site.
· Coordinate and manage field technicians and subcontractors, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and verifying quality of execution.
· Perform and support basic fault diagnosis on GIS equipment, analyzing simple failures and defining corrective actions based on operational experience.
· Prepare and deliver detailed technical reports on maintenance activities, including findings, identified issues, and recommendations for improvement.
What You Bring
· Technical degree in Electrical Maintenance, Electromechanics, or a related field with Journeyman Electrician or equivalent national certification.
· Extensive work experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial or high-voltage electrical systems.
· Demonstrated experience working under limited supervision and analyzing non-routine technical problems.
· Experience in troubleshooting (Problem Solving), preventive Maintenance, test Equipment and mechanical Aptitude
· Experience in Electrical Systems & Components such as Switchgear, circuit Breakers, wiring Diagram and SF6 gas safe and proper management
· Availability to travel for extended periods.
· Intermediate-Advanced English
