A Snapshot of Your Day

Working in the Queretaro, MX office, the ST COE Modernization Engineer will support and execute Customer Order Engineering (COE) for large steam turbine modernization, new apparatus (NA), and R&D projects. The ST Mods Engineer will design and analyze the steam turbine center line equipment to meet customer contractual requirements for reliable and efficient operation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Design new apparatus (NA) and modernization solutions for OEM and oOEM ST units
  • Guide Designers/Drafters in the preparation of layouts, assembly and detail drawings.
  • Communicate with manufacturing and field personnel to ensure that designs are consistent with
  • manufacturing and assembly capabilities.
  • Evaluate deviations from configuration due to manufacturing or field assembly issues and
  • recommend corrective actions.
  • Clarify interfaces and boundary conditions as well as continuous interfacing with design
  • engineers from other skill functions.
  • Produce technical reports.
  • Participate in design reviews, as required

What You Bring

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior energy experience preferred
  • Prior steam turbine design knowledge in the areas of core turbine design, mechanical analysis for
  • rotating and/or stationary components, or rotor dynamics is desired
  • Desire and technical aptitude to understand the design of our products, how features impact
  • design for manufacturability, material selection, and product cost
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SAP, CAD, and/or FEA tools is desired
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish

The Team consists of COE and R&D functions, as well as tendering functions required to execute our large utility steam turbine projects. Projects range from R&D, major modernization/upgrades, to new unit. Steam Turbine Engineers are involved in all phases of our projects, beginning with proposals to customers, detailed design, hardware/software production, testing and ending with site installation and turnover to the customer.
