A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as a Software Tester QA (m/f/d) Overhead Line Monitoring at Siemens Energy, where you will play a crucial role in validating the quality, accuracy, and performance of software solutions used to monitor and analyze overhead line systems. Imagine ensuring that analytical models, data processing workflows, visualization tools, and reporting features function correctly and meet engineering and operational requirements. You will collaborate closely with developers, domain experts, and product teams to deliver a robust analytics platform for overhead line inspection, monitoring, and predictive maintenance, ensuring a seamless transition from test environments to production.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts tailored to overhead line analytics workflows, defining testing scope and quality metrics for new features
- Perform manual and automated testing of data ingestion pipelines, analytics models, visualization dashboards, and alarm data validation
- Verify data accuracy and conduct checks on time-series data, weather feeds, and field inspection data to ensure reliable operational decision-making
- Create automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and maintain automation suites to support continuous integration and delivery
- Collaborate with developers, GIS specialists, and data scientists, documenting defects clearly and maintaining test documentation and release validation reports
- Ensure testing aligns with industry standards, validating performance and security of the analytics application under realistic load conditions
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical/Power Systems, or a related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in software testing, ideally within engineering analytics, GIS, or utility applications
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, and performance testing
- Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Postman, JMeter, Robot Framework, or PyTest
- Good knowledge of data validation, SQL queries, and API testing
- Familiarity with geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS or QGIS) and Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) applications is a strong advantage
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions
