A Snapshot of Your Day
As part of the SGT Shipping department, you will operate within a strong, independent team supporting customers in over 90 countries. Your focus will be on managing import and export activities in line with customs procedures and regulatory requirements. You will prepare and coordinate shipments including parts, tooling, engines, and gas turbine packages, working closely with third party packaging providers and freight forwarders. The role requires clear communication, strong stakeholder relationships, and the ability to adapt to changing business demands to ensure customer projects are delivered on time.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Manage import and export activities in line with customs regulations and internal procedures.
• Create and validate export and customs documentation within SAP.
• Ensure shipment manifests, invoices, and paperwork are accurate and complete.
• Coordinate collections with approved freight forwarders and monitor proof of delivery.
• Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies or errors.
• Process certificates of origin and Dangerous Goods shipments for road, sea, and air.
• Liaise with internal customs teams, export control, and external logistics partners.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying process optimisation opportunities.
• Operate freight forwarder booking tools and manage manual shipment requests when required.
What You Bring
• Experience in a customer facing shipping, logistics, or transport role.
• Strong working knowledge of export documentation and customs requirements.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Understanding of Incoterms and international freight movements.
• Experience handling oversized or heavy shipments.
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers low emission power generation through service and decarbonisation. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonisation opportunities through service offerings, modernisation and digitalisation of the fleet.
