A snapshot of your Day

This position is an addition to the EHS, Quality, and Security (EQS) management team at the Switchgears plant in Queretaro. The primary business driver is to establish and lead a comprehensive "Zero Failures" quality culture, ensuring the highest standards of product safety and excellence from material reception through final delivery. To achieve this, the role is structured around three core pillars: strategic leadership and team development, end-to-end process and supplier quality assurance, and the cultivation of a continuous improvement mindset. This involves managing the quality team, implementing robust quality gates and supplier controls, and driving data-informed process enhancements across the facility. Given the focus on strategic oversight and technical execution, the ideal candidate will possess proven experience managing quality departments in complex manufacturing environments. Essential requirements include a strong background in quality systems like Lean Six Sigma, deep knowledge of supplier management and product safety, and bilingual leadership capabilities to inspire a team and collaborate effectively with international counterparts.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • 40% Strategic Quality Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, empower, and develop the team of Quality Professionals (QP), providing technical guidance and ensuring flawless execution of quality objectives.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with the plant's "Zero Failures" goal and product safety standards.
    • Act as a key member of the site's EQS management team, collaborating with Test Field, Customer Experience, Supplier Development, and EHS to drive integrated quality initiatives.
    • Manage departmental resources and provide executive-level reporting on quality performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
  • 40% Process & Supplier Quality Assurance
    • Direct the Material Inspection and Supplier Quality Management (SQM) functions to guarantee all incoming components meet stringent quality standards before entering production.
    • Design and ensure the implementation of strategic Quality Gates throughout the manufacturing chain for end-to-end traceability and defect prevention.
    • Guarantee compliance with relevant international, CFE, and European standards applicable to the electrical and switchgear industry.
    • Lead investigations into quality deviations, customer complaints, and non-conformances using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • 20% Continuous Improvement & Culture Development
    • Champion a site-wide culture of continuous improvement and Zero Failures through strategic vision, training, and effective conflict resolution.
    • Utilize data analysis and methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to interpret operational data, anticipate deviations, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
    • Oversee the internal audit program to ensure process adherence and identify opportunities for system and process enhancements.
    • Promote a mindset of critical thinking and data-driven decision-making across all levels of the organization to elevate quality standards.
