A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Project Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will take ownership of assigned project work packages within our Transmission & Distribution portfolio. You’ll work closely with Technical Lead Engineers and Procurement Officers to manage subcontractor and supplier packages from delivery through to handover. Your day will involve attending factory acceptance tests, evaluating supplier performance, preparing progress updates, and supporting customer-facing meetings. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Drive project and work packages in coordination with the Technical Lead Engineer, Procurement Officer, and wider project team.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier packages from delivery through to handover, ensuring clear communication and coordination throughout.
- Ensure all necessary technical, procurement, and quality documentation is in place for factory acceptance testing, and attend tests when required.
- Conduct supplier and subcontractor performance evaluations.
- Identify and escalate project risks, design changes, and opportunities, working closely with the Project Manager.
- Assist in the preparation of Monthly Progress Reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide procurement information for inclusion in Quality Assurance Plans, supporting commissioning engineers and site teams.
- Support customer meetings by addressing technical discussions, resolving issues, and managing design risks for your assigned scope.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer within the Transmission & Distribution industry.
- A strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution standards and technologies.
- Good working knowledge of Substation Primary and Secondary Systems.
- Familiarity with current Health & Safety and Environmental Regulations.
- Understandin of risk management processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- A proactive and structured approach to problem-solving and project execution
