You participate as a procurement expert in project meetings and define procurement and supplier strategies to achieve the best possible award result in terms of cost, quality, and other project goals. You maintain close communication with other interface departments and coordinate comprehensive internal communication. This also includes summarizing the award process for internal approvals.
Additionally, you communicate with suppliers relevant to your material fields and monitor the market to select suitable suppliers for each project. You stay up-to-date and continuously develop through exchanges with procurement colleagues and Real Estate partners.
How You Can Make a Difference
- As Project Procurement Manager at Real Estate, you are responsible for the procurement of national and international construction main and ancillary services, technical building equipment, and engineering services based on the requirements of Real Estate.
- You create (electronic) tenders, evaluate offers, and conduct price and contract negotiations up to the contract conclusion, which also includes supplementary and claim management.
- For your material fields, you define and implement procurement strategies. You conduct needs, market, and supplier analyses to ensure a long-term, cost-efficient, and timely supply in the required quality.
- Depending on the project country, you conduct market analyses worldwide to contribute to the optimal procurement strategy and ensure cooperation with the best suppliers.
- The implementation and ensuring the use of defined purchasing methods, processes, and systems in a digital procurement environment are also part of your tasks.
- Close collaboration with internal interfaces (other purchasing functions, legal department, project management, bid management, construction planning/construction project management department, regions, controlling, reporting, etc.) is a matter of course for you.
What You Bring
- You have bachelor’s degree as an architect, civil engineer, industrial engineer with a focus on construction, or a commercial education with a technical construction background.
- 5+ years of experience in project management or procurement of goods and services in the construction industry or real estate-related areas.
- You possess strong negotiation skills, goal orientation, and proactive actions.
- You have knowledge in project management specific to procurement as well as contract law.
- Fluent English and proficiency with Office tools complete your profile. German is a value.
About the Team
We manage all procurement activities required for Siemens Energy's owned and leased properties worldwide. This includes property operations, all new construction and renovation projects, as well as energy procurement. We are looking for a proactive buyer for the procurement-side implementation of construction projects and maintenance measures, primarily in Germany. Additionally, you will support global construction projects as well as the development of the global strategy.

Snapshot of Your Day
In a kick-off meeting with the bid management, engineering, and the regional subsidiary, you coordinate the roadmap for your project. Here, you moderate the requirements of the bid management and sales, as well as the contributions from engineering and other interface partners. Afterwards, you align your presentation for a double-digit million-dollar contract award for construction services with your team to present it to management and discuss your award recommendation. In between, you handle your emails and meet with colleagues in the canteen for lunch and subsequent coffee, exchanging insights about the performance of your recent construction partners.
- · You are responsible for the procurement of national and international main and ancillary construction services, technical building equipment, and engineering services based on customer requirements at the best conditions, while ensuring safety and health protection requirements, execution quality, and on-time delivery.
- · Preparation, negotiation, and successful completion of negotiations for medium to high purchasing volumes.
- · In your material field, you define and implement procurement strategies. You conduct requirements, market, and supplier analyses to ensure long-term, cost-efficient, and timely supply of the required quality.
- · Depending on the project country, you conduct worldwide market analyses to contribute to the optimal procurement strategy and to ensure cooperation with the best suppliers.
- · Implementation and ensuring the use of defined procurement methods, processes, and systems in a digital procurement environment.
- · Planning, generating, documenting, and monitoring savings.
- · Ensuring close collaboration with internal interfaces (other purchasing functions, legal department, project management, bid management, construction planning/construction project management department, regions, controlling, reporting, etc.).
- · Supporting supplier management processes (e.g., qualification, selection, evaluation, development, classification).
What you bring
- A successfully completed degree in civil engineering or a comparable education with relevant professional experience in the field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in procurement and/or construction project management
- Fluent in English, additional language skills are advantageous (special value for German)
- Technical and commercial understanding
- Willingness to travel and perform nationally and internationally
- Experience in international project business or plant construction
- Entrepreneurial thinking / living the owner culture
- Experience with procurement-specific tools and methods is an advantage
- Experience in contract drafting for national and international construction and work contracts (e.g., BGB, VOB, FIDIC, NEC)
