A Snapshot of Your Day
The Planning & Scheduling Engineer for Construction Projects is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules throughout all phases of industrial construction projects, from early planning through construction, commissioning, and handover.
This role ensures that project timelines are realistic, integrated, and aligned with Siemens Energy standards, contractual milestones, and execution strategies. The position acts as a key interface between Siemens Energy Real Estate BSS, Project Management, the General Contractor, subcontractors, and engineering teams, providing visibility into progress, risks, and schedule performance.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- · Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities in alignment with Siemens Energy project execution requirements.
- · Review and assess baseline schedules and updates submitted by the General Contractor and key subcontractors, verifying logic, sequencing, critical path, and resource loading.
- · Monitor project progress through regular updates, site observations, and coordination meetings, identifying schedule deviations, risks, and mitigation actions.
- · Perform schedule impact analyses related to design changes, scope variations, delays, and interface issues, supporting informed decision-making by Project Management.
- · Prepare schedule reports, look-ahead plans, progress curves, and key schedule KPIs, providing clear and accurate visibility to Siemens Energy stakeholders.
- · Support coordination across disciplines by aligning construction sequencing with engineering deliverables, procurement lead times, and commissioning readiness.
What You Bring
- · Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling principles for industrial and large-scale construction projects, including critical path method (CPM) and progress measurement techniques.
- · Ability to develop, review, and analyze detailed schedules using industry-standard planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project or equivalent).
- · Experience evaluating contractor schedules, progress claims, and recovery plans, ensuring alignment with contractual and project requirements.
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify schedule risks, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
- · Ability to communicate schedule status and risks clearly to project teams, management, and contractors.
- · Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) for reporting and coordination.
- · Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple interfaces and priorities.
Profile Summary
Planning & Scheduling Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, and a minimum of 4 years of experience in planning and scheduling for industrial or large-scale construction projects. Demonstrated experience developing and managing integrated project schedules, analyzing critical paths, and supporting project controls. Familiar with international project planning best practices and multidisciplinary project environments. Recognized for analytical rigor, structured execution, and effective collaboration with project teams.
About the team
The Planning & Scheduling Engineer will report to the Project Manager of Siemens Energy Real Estate BSS for the STM300 expansion project located in Santa Teresa, Guanajuato. The role is part of the Siemens Energy project execution organization, working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, EHS, Quality, and Commissioning teams to ensure schedule alignment and successful project delivery.
You will collaborate with global and local Siemens Energy stakeholders, as well as external contractors, providing transparency and control over project timelines.
