A Snapshot of Your Day
You’ll review conceptual designs from R&D, assess technical performance under mechanical and dielectric conditions, and collaborate closely with our simulation experts to interpret FEA, CFD, and thermal results. Together, you will look for opportunities to enrich processes with AI-driven optimization and multidisciplinary insights. Your contributions will help ensure our technologies reach maturity while maintaining the proven quality and accuracy of current methods.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support the development of new component technologies from the research stage to readiness for design implementation by the engineering team.
- Collaborate with simulation team to combine mechanical and dielectric evaluations with established analysis workflows.
- Contribute to process enrichment by introducing AI-assisted design evaluation, optimization, and data analysis tools.
- Carry out materials assessments (metals, composites, insulation systems) in alignment with established targets, in close collaboration with Basic Research and Fundamentals teams
- Provide feedback to engineering counterparts on manufacturability, durability, and integration aspects.
- Work closely with global sites to share data, guidelines, and innovation methods.
- Participate in multidisciplinary projects that broaden and enhance transformer component capabilities.
What You Bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, ideally with exposure to dielectric/insulation systems.
- 3–5 years of experience in component development, testing, or industrialization projects.
- Familiarity with CAD and simulation tools (Creo, NX, ANSYS) and willingness to learn new platforms.
- Understanding of structural integrity, thermal effects, and dielectric performance in engineering applications.
- Interest or experience in applying AI/machine learning for engineering optimization or automation.
- Experience with materials evaluation, especially metals, polymers, and composites for electrical equipment.
- Strong collaboration skills for global, cross-disciplinary teamwork.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting, with a focus on complementing and enhancing proven engineering solutions.
