A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is in the Operational Excellence Department in Richland, MS reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager. The position is accountable for ensuring product/process integrity for high voltage circuit breakers through the development and implementation of systems that support internal processes such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, Marketing, EHS, and Quality.  

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead manufacturing capacity enhancement projects to meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Plan and execute cross-functional projects related to shop floor layout, Lean Manufacturing, tooling/fixture needs, etc.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods and participating in Kaizen workshops.
  • Work with various contractors, shop floor personnel, and Operations Management to execute project task implementation.
  • Support Shop Floor 5S Program implementation.
  • Develop competency with internal customers.
  • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process.
  • Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, capacity enhancement, and efficiency gain.
  • Develop standardized manufacturing criteria across all product lines.
  • Learn details about Siemens Energy circuit breaker technology and the key advantages that Siemens Energy plants offer to customers.
  • Employees in the circuit breaker group can advance their career’s both in the Siemens Energy US, and Global, organizations.

 

 

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required. Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Takes initiative and ownership.
  • Team player with leadership tendencies.
  • Adaptable to a constantly changing environment.
  • Continued commitment to learn and apply knowledge.
  • Capable of independent decision-making within set parameters.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with AutoDesk CAD programs.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
