A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a Senior Protection & Control Engineer to be responsible for relay protection and control engineering activities, including basic design, configuration / testing and specification of protection and control systems and check of detail design for high voltage substation and transmission projects. This position will offer the ability to directly apply candidate’s knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems in substation and transmission projects.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Build and lead a diverse engineering team for C&P hardware management.
  • Supervise technical management of C&P offers and coordinate with project management.
  • Prepare specifications and Bill of Material for Protection/Control/Metering/RTU/Communication Panels.
  • Develop A.C. and D.C. schematic diagrams for substation relaying and metering.
  • Create concept diagrams for substation control systems and communication interfaces.
  • Design Protection and Control Panel layouts and high-level cable schedules.
  • Conduct configuration and Factory Acceptance Tests for Protection and Control Panels.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and travel 20-30% for customer meetings and project sites.


What You Bring

  • Extensive experience in protection/control/communications design for substations.
  • Candidates with more experience may qualify for higher-level positions.
  • Deep understanding of high voltage substation protection functions (distance, differential, bus bar).
  • Experience in writing support documentation for relay calculations.
  • Knowledge of ANSI standards; IEC standards knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with various vendor protective relay equipment (SEL, Siemens, GE).
  • Proficient in configuration tools for protection relays and control systems.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or MicroStation; good communication skills; Professional Engineering license preferred.
