Lead Engineer Automation – Maritime

   

A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a Lead Engineer Automation to lead our SW delivery for automation systems in exciting global projects that provide the maritime sector with innovative technologies and solutions. You will have a central role in our delivery projects with the responsibility for coordinating automation across multiple product groups, as well as responsibility for the overall automation functionality. You will be hands-on on the SW work, prepare documentation and carry out internal tests. When commissioning a vessel, there will also be a need for back-office support and on some occasions onsite support. You will work independently but at the same time be part of an interdisciplinary team. Together, we will work to deliver good, future-oriented solutions that are in line with our customers' needs

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

We are looking for a hands-on person, with proactive attitude to take responsibility for our projects, in combination with and a proven ability to develop SW, documents and plans. Part of the position is interacting with international teams with different cultures, including clients, subcontractors, classification companies, and the project team. Therefore, we expect you to be an excellent communicator and collaborator with a proactive attitude. The working language is English, but competence in one of the Scandinavian languages is beneficial. This role offers growth opportunities within the organization, with many learning prospects as well as opportunities to contribute and develop our portfolio of technical products and solutions.

 

The position reports to the Group Manager for Automation. Workplace is Bergen, and some travelling is needed within each project, most of it is scheduled way ahead - however some flexibility must be considered.

 

What You Bring

  • Master or bachelor within automation/cybernetics
  • Experience with maritime automation and control systems
  • Experience with PLC programming
  • Independent and structured
  • Working languages are Norwegian and English
