How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform commissioning activities for components and sub-systems of AIS/GIS High Voltage Substations, Synchronous Condenser Plants, and HVDC Converter Stations.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering design team to ensure timely project completion and adherence to specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of commissioning test procedures and template reports that enhance project efficiency. Issue detailed commissioning test reports to document findings and ensure compliance.
  • Organize and distribute project design team documents, implementing necessary corrections during the commissioning phase.
  • Assist in planning tasks according to the agreed baseline to achieve project goals effectively.
  • Provide valuable feedback from site experiences to other disciplines involved in the project, including design, installation, and project management teams.
  • What You Bring
  • A degree in electrical engineering or an electrotechnical high school diploma.
  • A proactive attitude towards solving practical problems and adapting to changes.
  • Proficiency in specific IT programs such as AutoCAD, Elcad, and Cadelet.
  • Good command of English and Italian
  • Availability for national and international business trips ranging from short (2-3 weeks) to medium (1-2 months) durations as needed.
  • A strong focus on achieving goals and ensuring customer satisfaction, combined with initiative, autonomy, and a collaborative spirit.

Nice to have 

  • Basic experience in testing and commissioning auxiliary systems and protection relays for HV-MV substations.
  • Familiarity with electrical simulation tools for commissioning protection, control, and auxiliary systems.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation for integrity and circuit verification, including Current and Voltage Transformers (e.g., ISA, OMICRON).
  • Basic experience in designing and commissioning control and protection boards, including drafting functional diagrams and wiring charts in the HV-MV substation area.
  • Understanding of Siemens Siprotec protection relays and related Digsi configuration software.
  • Familiarity with Siemens SICAM A8000 Remote Terminal Units.

For apprenticeship contracts, the indicative gross annual salary range depends on the candidate’s educational background and it will be shared since the beginning of the recruititng process with the selected candidate. The apprenticeship program includes defined salary steps: compensation increases progressively based on seniority and the acquisition of skills, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Metalmeccanico Industria.
