Junior Buyer
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Junior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the project procurement process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services. Your responsibilities will revolve around executing procurement tasks, from supplier inquiry to order processing, using specialized tools like SAP. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for managing the cost-effective supply of materials & services in line with company processes based on customer requirements, while maintaining quality and on-time delivery standards. Internally, you will provide excellent detail-oriented customer service to our Order Winning, Operations, Project Management, Engineering and Finance teams. How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
• Process purchase requests by creating, reviewing, and releasing purchase orders to suppliers in line with governance requirements.
• Purchase order management, including tracking/expediting to ensure a cost-efficient supply of materials in line with demand.
• Support Order Winning enquiries in an efficient manner.
• Coordinate with suppliers to meet operational/customer requirements and ensure clear communication & escalation of risks to relevant stakeholders.
• Develop relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor supplier delivery, invoices, invoice inquiries, quality performance and address performance issues with suppliers as necessary.
• Demonstrate strong customer focus by handling requests in a timely manner & to a high standard.
• Communicate efficiently and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. • Actively seek process optimization and improvement opportunities in relevant areas (e.g. MoQ optimization, bundling of purchase orders, etc.)
• Proactively prevent and manage quality defects with each supplier.
• Comply with Company policies at all times, for example, Business Conduct Guidelines and Confidential Information.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 50% Procurement Execution & Project Support
- Inquire with suppliers, participate in offer comparisons, and support contract negotiations
- Execute project procurement tasks using SAP, including Material Master Data generation and Purchase Order creation
- Review project obligations and monitor delivery dates for components and services
- Compile and maintain project schedules in collaboration with project team members
- 30% Strategy & Performance Management
- Implement procurement strategies to ensure a cost-efficient supply of materials
- Generate, document, and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Plan, monitor, and report on relevant procurement key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Adhere to globally defined methods, processes, and tools to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Part Number Creation in SAP when necessary
- Updating and tracking on the Procurement Plan for each project
- Supplier onboarding document transmission and EHS Questionnaire
- Sending inquiries and RFQs for small amount purchases and miscellaneous parts
- 20% Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Commercial Project Management, and Development
- Serve as a point of contact for procurement-related inquiries within project teams
