How to contribute to our vision
This role is created to support a HVDC projects within the Grid Technologies' Control & Protection engineering team. The primary business aim is to provide specialized IT network and security engineering for High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) control systems, ensuring robust and secure project delivery. To meet this objective, the role is structured around three core areas: IT Network & Security Engineering for the design and implementation of the system's communication backbone; System Integration & Verification to ensure all components function correctly according to technical and security requirements; and Project Coordination to manage stakeholder communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Given the focus on industrial control systems, the ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of network engineering for industrial applications (e.g., SCADA), IT security standards such as IEC 62443 and NERC-CIP, and hands-on experience configuring network hardware. This P3 Senior Professional role requires the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
What You Need To Make a Difference
- 50% IT Network & Security Engineering
- Design and implement IT network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, time synchronization, remote access) for HVDC control and protection systems.
- Develop and implement IT security concepts for industrial control systems based on international standards like IEC 62443 and NERC-CIP.
- Configure communication components such as routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, RuggedCom) while adhering to stringent IT security requirements.
- Create and maintain project-specific technical specifications, network diagrams, and system documentation.
- 30% System Integration & Verification
- Perform system integration of network components in a lab environment to verify communication, security policies, and redundancy.
- Develop and execute test plans and cases to validate functional requirements and system performance against design specifications.
- Conduct and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with sub-suppliers and customers to ensure system compliance.
- Provide advanced technical support during the on-site commissioning phase to troubleshoot and resolve network and security issues.
- 20% Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Clarify technical communication concepts and security requirements with internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and customers.
- Manage project engineering tasks related to IT network communication, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Report defects and track them through to resolution, maintaining clear communication with all project stakeholders.
Education
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Network/Communication Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in network engineering for industrial applications and IT security.
- Experience in project engineering, customer clarification, and working within complex technical teams is required.
