Global Commodity Manager Valves & Actuators

Job Title  Corporate Commodity Manager (f/m/d) Valves & Actuators Location: Germany, Sweden, US Department: SE P DM SYS RA Job Grade: Germany - Non Senior Management ÜT-Kreis Mode of Employment: Full-time / Permanent A Snapshot of Your Day  The organization Strategic Procurement, Direct Material is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for direct materials and services that will ensure the optimization of Siemens Energy’s competitive position. As a Corporate Commodity Manager for Valves & Actuators, you will be part of Corporate Strategic Procurement team (SE P DM SYS RA), lead a cross-functional team globally and are responsible for a Corporate commodity strategy. Focus is on developing and managing a Valves & Actuator suppliers Typical day for Corporate Commodity Manager includes define/execution of commodity strategies, negotiation with suppliers, supplier relationship management, supplier contract management, reporting, problem solving and escalation handling, supply chain risk mitigation as well as alignment meetings with internal/external x-functional team. How You’ll Make an Impact  The successful candidate will be the Corporate Commodity Manager for Valves & Actuators, which includes: Manage commodity globally and across organizations and develop, implement, and maintain a global commodity strategy for Valves & Actuators, in alignment with business units. Conduct market analysis, cost structure analysis, and supply landscape evaluations. Identify cost‑saving opportunities, to include innovation pathways Maintain a strong external network of Valve & Actuator OEM’s, which include new supplier development. Identify, evaluate, and approve strategic suppliers based on capability, sustainability, quality, and cost. Build long‑term supplier relationships and lead supplier business reviews, scorecard evaluations, and follow-up actions. Ensure business continuity by preparing risk mitigation plans and dual/multi sourcing concepts. Internal and external management around demand vs supply in terms of capacity management. Internal and external management around market intelligence, which includes but is not limited to Market trends (cost drivers, M&A, demand). Geopolitical and supply chain risk impact, competitor and supplier landscape. Prepare and run quarterly business reviews / executive alignment Lead complex commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms, capacity and service agreements and manage framework contracts, SLAs, pricing and supply agreements. Ensure suppliers meet environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. Be strong interface to lead commodity circles with R&D, Cost-Value Engineering, Supplier Quality Development as well as other procurement functions. What You Bring Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Packaging Technology, or a related field. 5–10 years’ experience in strategic procurement, preferably in Direct Materials in Energy, Oil & Gas, Process Industry. Packaging experience is strongly preferred. Strong commercial and negotiation skills. Knowledge in supply and supplier markets for Valves & Actuators. Operations experience (Manufacturing and SCM), ideally in a leadership position are a plus Excellent analytical capabilities and structured problem-solving. Strong stakeholder management capabilities across functions and regions. Ability to integrate and influence in a matrix organization and drive corporate initiatives Excellent knowledge of contract law and export control Knowledge in geo-political cost management strategies Fluent English; German and other languages are a plus Position is posted for Germany, Sweden, US Travel percentage ~25%   About the Team The SE P DM SYS RA organization is responsible for managing 3rd party spend as well as developing procurement strategies of direct material fields for Rotating Equipment and Auxiliaries that will allow Siemens Energy to maintain competitive position in marketplace and support company’s vision to become the most valued energy technology company Our professional procurement team utilizes modern tools and processes to develop global sourcing strategy for assigned commodities, that delivers optimal supply cost, quality, on time delivery, ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) compliant and VUCA resilient supply chain for Business Unit to improve competitive advantage for Siemens Energy.
