As an Engineering Intern in SE AP CD EN Malaysia, you will support the engineering and delivery of advanced control system solutions for power generation and energy infrastructure projects across the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with our experienced engineers, you’ll contribute to real-world projects ranging from gas turbine and steam turbine controls to plant-wide automation upgrades. Your work will help ensure reliable and efficient power for our customers, supporting Siemens Energy’s mission to make the energy transition a reality. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Assist in the design, configuration, and testing of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for power generation projects.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), simulation runs, and site commissioning activities in collaboration with the Customer Delivery team.
- Participate in troubleshooting and optimization of control logic to improve plant operations and performance.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation such as control narratives, wiring diagrams, and test protocols.
- Gain exposure to industry-leading control technologies used in Siemens Energy’s portfolio, including SPPA-T3000 and other automation platforms.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and aligned with Siemens Energy quality standards.
What You Bring
- A curiosity-driven mindset and eagerness to learn about power plant automation and industrial control systems.
- Basic knowledge of control systems, electrical engineering, or instrumentation through academic coursework or projects.
- Familiarity with PLC or DCS configuration tools (e.g., Siemens PCS7, SPPA-T3000, or similar) is a plus.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in technical work.
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, multicultural, project-driven environment.
- Motivation to contribute to reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy solutions in the Asia Pacific region.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
