A Snapshot of Your Day
You will engage with a multidisciplinary team to deliver on the engineering requirements of a rotating equipment project.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Oversee the electrical engineering aspects of new rotating equipment projects, covering electric motor-driven compressor trains, gas turbine-generators, and additional components like coolers and valves, for both onshore and offshore applications.
- Collaborate with the Project Engineer to address and resolve technical issues, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Uphold the highest standards of electrical engineering throughout the design and manufacturing process to guarantee excellence in all products.
- Analyze and troubleshoot electrical systems in gas turbines, compressors, and process systems, ensuring optimal performance and design integrity.
- Lead the drafting/design team in producing accurate project documentation, including contract documents and materials lists, and assist production with clear assembly instructions and drawing modifications.
- Efficiently manage the electrical engineering schedule and budget, ensuring timely delivery of specifications and materials lists to clients, while providing continued technical support through warranty periods.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in project execution, research and development, or similar roles. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Proficient in specifying/configuring MV drives, motors, switchgear, and other electrical equipment. Knowledge of MV drives, motor installation and commissioning, electrical design, and power systems.
- Expertise in large electrical drives up to 50 MW, including accessories for cooling, control, monitoring, and protection of medium voltage motors, converters, switchgears, and transformer and knowledge of inverter topologies (VSI vs. LCI) and their interaction with transformer and motor design, in accordance with IEC60034, NEMA MG 1, and API standards.
- Understanding of Explosion Protection Methods (as per IEC 60079 and NFPA 70 NEC 500/505), power generation systems, synchronization and protection relays. Solid understanding of packaging / assembly of motor driven compressor skid and its auxiliaries will be beneficial including design of mounting of cable trays & instruments, selection of cables and its accessories.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork skills, with a willingness to travel up to 10% for project needs.
