Snapshot of your day

In your role as a Draughtsperson within Service Engineering you will work remotely from our offices in Alfragide or from home (we allow adjustable hybrid working arrangements), whilst maintaining regular contact with the current Draughting Team based in Newcastle and our wider network colleagues based in other Siemens Energy locations to support the demand from our customers' power plants at locations worldwide.

Interface with other local and Network Partners, as required. Input to customer and supplier interface issues, meetings and documentation.

Working with legacy drawing archive for ongoing service contract spares.

·       As member of our Customer Order Engineering team, you will apply suitable draughting skills and techniques to produce accurate models, drawings, BOMs & issue Engineering technical specifications on 2D/3D CAD & SAP software packages, order processing within specified contract costs or development budgets, timescales and appropriate quality standards. To allow the manufacture or purchase of components required by our customers.

·       Work closely with our internal partners, Projects, Tendering, Field Service to execute & support technical drawing & BOM packages.

·       Working with following 2D/3D CAD Software packages: - Siemens NX, PTC Creo, GTX Raster CAD, AutoCAD.

·       PLM & BOM Management Software packages: - SAP & Teamcenter.

How You’ll Make an Impact

·       You will be responsible for the preparation and execution of accurate drawings and Bills of Materials on turbine and generator components for power plants worldwide. At least 3 years Mechanical engineering experience in an engineering environment is a fundamental prerequisite.

·       Contribute to quality and continuous improvement activities.

·       Integrated into our COE team, you will execute work packages to support on time delivery of the required deliverables to our customers.

·       You will be required to work independently and as part of a team as well as interface with internal and external stakeholders, as required.

·       Prepare and submit for approval 3D models, drawings, BOM’s.

·       Submit 2D/3D models & drawings workflows via PLM Tools Teamcenter.

·       Check all work is suitable for the purpose and ensure all work has been carried out correctly, in line with valid rules, tools and procedures.

·       Issue specifications, manufacturing data, design methods, technical advice only with the approval of the Section Manager or their nominees.

What You Bring

·       3 - 5 years’ experience in an engineering environment.

·       Good knowledge and experience of draughting skills and techniques.

·       Good knowledge or awareness of CAD Software packages, Siemens NX, PTC Creo, GTX Raster CAD, AutoCAD.

·       Experience or awareness of PLM & BOM Management Software packages: - SAP & Teamcenter.

·       Good leadership and communication skills, with a strong focus on safety, quality and customers.

·       Teamwork and interpersonal skills, ownership. Makes a positive contribution to the team.

·       Flexibility & adapting to changes in assigned tasks at short notice.

·       Ability and willingness to travel on an ad-hoc basis.

·       You are fluent in English (written and spoken) and can adapt to foreign cultures.

·       Computer literacy is essential to operate our 2D/3D draughting software packages.

·       Responsible for technical content of assigned work packages and consistent application of rules, tools and processes.
