A Snapshot of Your Day
We are looking for a technically excellent and enthusiastic individual seeking a leadership role to join Siemens Energy as a Group Leader within our Combustion Aero team.
In this role, you will oversee technical delivery, resource management, and combustion support activities while leading and developing a high-performing engineering team. You will work closely with internal technical specialists, manufacturing teams, and global stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery across a range of combustion aero projects and activities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Scope and coordinate technical requirements for combustion aero activities, balancing priorities and resource allocation.
- Provide technical oversight and first-line approval of engineering work within the team.
- Support combustion-related activities across production testing, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.
- Ensure on-time delivery of technical tasks while collaborating closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders.
- Advise Product Line and Product owners on escalated technical topics and product opportunities.
- Engage with global combustion networks, internal engineering teams, technology specialists, and academic partners.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
- Support the development of team capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance management activities.
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s, check-ins, and annual appraisals to support employee growth and engagement.
What You Bring
- BEng/BSc degree, or equivalent, in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards chartership.
- Working knowledge of PDP/PIP engineering processes
- Experience with gas turbine product structures, design activities, engineering calculations, and specifications.
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Combustion systems
- Fuels and emissions
- Rig testing
- CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
- Previous experience leading projects, technical activities, and/or engineering teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary and global teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and technical excellence.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
